The ending of a marital relationship can feel much like the grief process after the loss of a loved one. Whether you were the party who wanted the divorce, or if you were on the other side, there is a life transition involved in ending a marriage. The process can become increasingly stressful if children, property, and/or businesses are involved.
Without proper support as you navigate your divorce, feelings of depression, anxiety, hate, resentment, hopelessness, and helplessness can arise.
How can therapy help?
Therapy can help you to determine the feelings you are experiencing and devise a plan to combat them in efforts to minimize the damage they do in your life. Additionally, we will help to problem solve to help you move through this transition as smoothly as possible. At Lotus Wellness Center, we use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) which has been proven successful in treating anxiety and depression, as well as Mindfulness to help you focus on the here and now.
